Demand Hearings on the Politically Motivated Firing of Andrew McCabe.

On the night of March 16th, less than 48 hours before he planned to retire, FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was fired. The last minute termination stripped McCabe of the pension he earned in 22 years of service to our country, and followed months of character assassination from right wing media and the President himself. The ostensible justification was a recommendation from the agency’s own internal Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR), which found McCabe improperly communicated information to the press and then misled OPR about that communication. Undermining this narrative are the following facts: McCabe is a corroborating witness for James Comey regarding Trump’s strongarm “loyalty” conversations and similarly partisan remarks made by Trump to McCabe himself; McCabe earned Trump’s wrath because of his role in investigations connected to Hillary Clinton and the 2016 election; McCabe was fired by an Attorney General who is supposed to be recused from matters related to Comey, Clinton and the 2016 election.

This all suggests McCabe’s firing is no more about Hillary Clinton than was Comey’s. In both cases, decent men who’d dedicated their lives to serving the country and seeking the truth were attacked and taken out by a corrupt president and his henchmen. This is not democracy. This is not due process. This is not justice. Call your representatives and demand that the FBI Deputy Director be allowed to retire with the pension and dignity he deserves, that this latest outrage be investigated by Congress, and that Attorney General Jeff Sessions testify.

Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [ADDRESS].

I’m calling to express my outrage about the firing of Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe. I demand that Rep/Sen [NAME] join his colleagues on both sides of the aisle and call for Judiciary Committee hearings to examine whether there was inappropriate political influence in McCabe’s termination. Attorney General Sessions should face the committee and explain exactly why and how this firing came about.

Thank you for your time and attention.
