Supporting ABLE: A local advocate for immigrant rights

Over the last few weeks, the Trump administration has continued its assault on immigrant populations around the country on multiple different fronts. Over the next few weeks, we will continue to call on you to contact your representatives and fight back against oppressive legislation. Today though, we are asking you to do your part for our local immigrant community, here in the Miami Valley, by learning about and supporting local advocates for immigrant rights.

Advocates for Basic Legal Equality (ABLE) is a regional, non-profit law firm that provides legal assistance to low-income individuals and groups through the region. Through their Agricultural Worker and Immigrant Rights Practice Group, they provide free legal aid to immigrant and agricultural workers around a variety of different issues, all focused on protecting the rights of this extremely vulnerable population.

Take a few moments to learn a little more about the work that ABLE does by visiting their website: http://www.ablelaw.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1741&Itemid=952

Then follow them on social media to get updates and action alerts and to stay informed about the needs of the immigrant community here in the Dayton region.
